How good is the new Akismet feature of vBulletin?

I am considering updating to the newest version of vBulletin, because I have 2 anti-spam scripts at the registration form, but it just doesn't work. Both catcha-like and intelligent-question-like scripts have been hacked and I have received tons of new spam posts.

I would like to know if the Akismet feature is close to catching 99% of all spam. Does it catch most spam that is posted by robots?
