How to deal with a surge in traffic . . .
Right now I have well over 1,ooo members on my board, and I expect it to soar to about 2,ooo at some points in the day. I usually turn off things like "who's online" and reduce the amount of posts per page, and threads per forum. I also turn off things like show similar threads, who's veiwing and a few other things.
What are some of the things you guys do to reduce the server loads in these situations?
Is there anything else that I can do to "grease the wheels?"
