I noticed that the welcome block in vbadvanced 2.1 is basically the same information as whats in the NavBar but without the members avatar and new post count.
This welcome block is 2 large IMO and i think moving the "NEW POSTS: (count)" link to the navbar (under Private Messages) would make it much easier for users to see the content within the page without having to scroll down. I know there is a "new posts" link in the NavBar, but it dosnt show the post count and alot of people wont look unless its staring them in the face. Maybe if the "New Post: (count)" link was in the NavBar we could also delete the old static link that dosnt show post count and make some space for more useful links rather than repeating them. Now I'm no coder however I found the php code in "welcomeblock.php" but i cannot figure out how to put this aray within the navbar template. I'm not really concerned with the Members Avatar being in the navbar, but if it looks neat without looking too crammed that would also be a bonus Anyone up to lookin at this? Think its worth while? |
