seperate threads/posts column

Please view this at 800x600 on forumhome. The "thread" column is not the same width throughout the forum lists. Not sure why. Below is my forumhome_level1_nopost template. The settings look right.

I would also like to seperate into two columns "theads" and "posts" instead of the single it is now. I also want to remove the text "thread" and "post" next to their numbers as well to keep the width small. Please explain how to go about doing these things. I have been trying and it comes up all messed up unfortuntely.
