the avatars dont show up on my board, ive gotta all settings correct... could it be a database problem?.... can someone help me out

What avatars? Ones you've uploaded, ones users have uploaded? What hacks have you installed? We need more info.

Yes I have 3.5 Gold and custom avatars do not show up on the showthread page... they show up on the profiles though.

Why don't avatars show up on the showthread pages?

I had the same problem. This happens if you have customized your postbit template. Just copy the avatar code from the new default template of postbit (there's a link to the left of the edit template window) and replace the old avatar code, and it'll appear again.
