How can I use build_new_post to assimilate a new poll creation of the thread that was just created?

I need on a certain action in a PHP script to create a new post (Which works), and then create a rated poll (very bad through very good rating) on each of these new threads.

Ideas??

Umm, is it just me or why cna't I reply to this, it seems to want to keep editing it
