A permanent way to get rid of The Ultimate Pains?

As I sure about half of the people owning a board has, is there anyway to truly get rid of the ultimate pain in butt posters. The kinds of posters that you ban then they get on proxies and get up at early in the mourning hours, spamming your boards under many accounts and then hack the forums and before you know it, your forums have turned pink and all your staff is fired including you. You know the upsessed to destroy type posters. I'd get rid of Proxies but when you have a board with 28,000 members that wouldn't settle too well with them. I have this wonderful proxy hack installed which lets me see who is who on proxies but has anyone on earth found a way to get rid of these absolute trouble makers?

Just pay them no attention and run a query to add them to everyone's ignore list

I had fun trying that. It lasted all over 12 hours then they realized what was going on. This is like the million dollar question on Forums, heh.

Keep doing it every time they re-register

Do a regular search on their IP to find any dupe accounts and then you can run a query whenever the need arises (it's not that hard really)

Just keep banning, eventually they will get bored and leave. Don't provoke them.

Hey I take offence to that. *looks at Posters* Alright maybe I don't. Maybe VB 3 will have some wonderful new method of banning.

But as he said above, my board really seems to find the absolute worst possible upsessed posters on the internet. I just wish someone could find a dream come true way to finally be able to get rid of those.

I think your most problematic forum is graphics...I once had a heated argument in there with a load of others (prings, drawmuh) well, they were on my side , some other idiot being an idiot

You know, I was thinking, about this proxy detector hack. Couldn't it be set up so if it can grab the true IP, it'll ban that account if the IP has already been banned? In other words, user "A" get's banned by IP. User "A" signs up as user "B" under a proxy. If the proxy detector can scan through the proxy and detect the true IP, they would be identical.(well, hopefully, depending on ISP) So couldnt it be set-up to automatically detect at sign-up, and if dupes are found, auto-ban, or even just not let them register.

And should I of posted this in the Suggestions forum?
