what the best way to promote my site quikcly?

vBulletinTemplates has been basically advertised through a single mailing list and a link in my signature, other from that, not much else has been done. There are not really any ways I can think of off the top of my head that will do it "quickly" for you, all websites take time.

Try exchanging lins with websites that basically have the same content as you or something generaly like it.

Like SaintDog said, trading links with similar sites is probably the best way. Then I'd suggest that you manually submit your site for review to Google, Altavista, etc.

One of my sites, InterPUG is at the top of most searches including the word "palm" thank to this technique.

You will have to read over the search engines page, there are links all over most of them saying "Submit URL" or "Submit Your URL".

Well, I hate to bring up fantasy wrestling but it's a good example of how hard site promotion can be.

In february I started off my forum community with about 40 or so people that I knew, talked to frequently and that were involved in eWrestling (fantasy wrestling) as well. I kept it to about 60 members for a month then slowly began to bring people in. At the time many of the fantasy wrestling mainstream websites started to run dry, forums degenerated and slowly but surely... my forum garned 75% of the users from all the other websites. No one yet has been able to open a successful forum but I started things off slow (was quite fun in the beginning with just friends).

Now my forum has 648 members (or 548) and just about 25,000 posts. Not too bad for six months and a relatively small hobby.

Look at Xelation now, it's looking REALLY good. Maybe he should give some tips.

vBT has not done too bad for only being open about 2 1/2 weeks (all traffic was generated from vBulletin.com, vBulletin.org, and vBT's mailing list). I hope things continue to grow at this rate, if they do, vBT may become a more reliable source for vBulletin template mod'ing .

When you add your url to a search engine,just be aware that most search engines only update new submissions between 4-6 week intervals,so don't expect immediate results.

Another useful tip is to add Meta tags to your index pages.
Meta tags are basically keywords that are descriptive of your boards content.You place them in the head of your main index pages.
