Strange SQL Error

We got a couple of these today - a strange error I have not seen before.

Database error in vBulletin 3.0.6:

mysql error: Illegal mix of collations (latin1_bin,IMPLICIT) and (latin1_swedish_ci,IMPLICIT) for operation '='

mysql error number: 1267
