New Posts not resetting

For about a week or two, i've now had an issue on my site with the new posts count is not resetting.

When users come to the site, it might have the correct # of posts from their last visit, but as soon as they click on it or read a thread, the new count will raise quite a bit. Its as if the cookies are not being reset.

Any help in what I might look for would be appreciated.

What do you have your cookie timeout set to ?

Its set to 600. I believe it was 900 before, and that is something I did change when I did an install of the Time Spent online hack.

I seemed to have fixed it.

I removed the timespent hack as it wasn't really working, putting things back to the way they should of been. Reset the cookie timeout to 900.

now it shows all users as offline, even if they are online. :/

Ok, i've looked around.

Taking out the time spent online didn't effect anything dealing with online users that I could see. I went step by step in reverse on removing it and making sure the code was back to original.

So i'm not sure as to why users are showing up in the who's online list, but the icon in their post bit is showing offline.

What exactly is your current problem ? what hacks do you currently have installed ?

What the issue seems to be is with # of new posts not being reset between visits and the icon in the post bit showing a user offline even though they are currently at the site.

It all started after i did the update to vb 3.0.7 and had tried to install a hack for time spent (which i subsequently removed), started working on the IRC manager to show who's online, and vb Stats.
