In the future, I hope that you will add the following:

A way to upgrade or install templates and phrases, without a full removal and install.

I upgraded to vb 307 and had to uninstall and reinstall, losing all my articles.

You should not have had a problem upgrading. I have upgraded a couple sites with V3 and had no problems.

The only thing that should have been effected from an upgrade regarding the article system is some file edits and some template edits.
