Okay, I've searched and searched and can't seem to find anything, so here goes.
I've created a site which has a custom PHP/MySQL comments/news section that I wrote which relies on the VBulletin user database for authentication. The idea is that any article on the main site has a comments database and users who are registered through our VBulletin setup are authorized to add comments. Everything's working wonderfully and it's great. The problem is that I'd like to create a CUSTOM solution for registration -- that is, if a user does not have an account and wants to enter a comment, I'd like to provide a small page or pop-up that they can quickly use to create a new VBulletin account while keeping them in my comments section and NOT sending them to the register.php page. I've found the "pop-up registration" mod, but that's not quite what I need. I'm looking for, basically, just the information about what info to add to the USERS table when I create a new user, as I'm not working within the VBulletin architecture of templates and such. Any ideas? register.php is pretty hard to dig through and I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly what the bare mininum amount of info I would need to add to the table to create a new user on the fly like this. |
