Your Forum is 17.4mb ( 174000KB ) in size not counting the increase in size after the backup. Normal rates are at $5 per 100kb.

However we do have a cap on this. If the forum does not have more than 500 members the maximun buyout for both the files and the database would be USD$100.

Wow. What a terrible host.

Anyway, if its in writing (the ToS you agreed to when you signed up) theres not much you can do other than give him the $$ if you want your data. You can (and should) spread the word to others about your bad experience with this host. He'll be out of business real quick with policies like that.

Wait a minute.. Is this one of those "free" hosts? If so, thats how they get ya. They provide space for you to start your site, then when everything starts going nicely and you wanna switch to a quality host they'll charge you a rediculas amount of money to get your data. Never use "free" hosts. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

thats some crap if you ask me.i gues su get what you pay for always look for osmeone trhat is reliable and make sure you have Ftp access. and access to at least PHPmyadmin
