Yes it was, their isn't anyway of taking my old backup and somehow getting that thread back without restoring?
It's possible - you would need to restore both post and thread tables as post2 and thread2 and do a query for the threadid, and then copy the relevant entries to the current post and thread tables. I reckon forget about subscription and attachments etc. Another way would be to restore the old post and thread tables, and then merge the newer entries to the new post and thread tables onto the top of the old tables.
Either way, you should backup your current database, and shut down your forums while you do this.
