I would like to change the smilie code so that every smilie image would have a blank space in front of it when it is inserted into a message. Can anyone help me with this?

That would require a simple preg replace to the post message, a quick plugin (just can't remember which hook). Cannot do this right now, but i will try when i can. Feel free to remind me if it's not done by tonight.
