Hi,
I hate vbulletin's search engine. Wouldn't it be nice if someone took google's search code (assuming of course you felt like violating a number of copyrights and patents...) and hacked it to shreds to make it work with vBulletin? ![]() ![]() Thanks, Paul |

yea, try search within UBB , then you'll see what a pleasant suprise it is to use the vb search.

Haha.. well.. yes.. it is an improvement, but I still drool every time I use Google... I guess what I'd like to see is sorting matches by relevance--perhaps by the number of times something appears in a post or better yet--the proximity of the words you're searching for...
I.e. if you search for "big apple", posts that contain the phrase "big apple" will appear before posts that contain "my you've gotten big. Do you like apples?" ![]() There.. someone code that ![]() |

Google's search engine algorithms are proprietary, and would be impossible to duplicate.
