Hi All
This is my first day on vBulletin.org (have been a Vb User for 8 months) and was impressed by the performance and number of users online. What are the server specs that this is running on? Thanks Dave |

Hi Dave....
We are running vb.com and vb.org on two servers... one web server and one for the MySQL database. They are both dual Pentium-III/850 with 1GB of RAM and 2 x 36GB SCSI hard drives. |

Chris
I thought that the vB.org board seems faster than the vB.com...probably because of a lot less posts. Thanks for the info...does the vBulletin forums run on the web server connected to the MySQL server? Or do you run the forums on the mySQL server? Thanks again, as always Dave |

its a common setup for larger boards
you have a web server which deals with all the http requests and then you have a seperate server running mysql, this just means that instead of php connecting to localhost which is where most people run mysql they connect to this other server. Its simply a way of decreasing load on a server. |
