Rebuilding search index too long

The forum has only 350k+ posts but rebuilding the search index took already more than 20 hours what could be the possible reason?

Did you do the rebuild with a command through SSH/console?

Are you on a shared server or your own? Are you sure it is still running and that it hasn't timed out (look at the tables and verify they are increasing in size every minute or so)?

You have to grab the file from the vbulletin installpackage from the do not upload directory. I am not sure of the name but I think it is searchshell.php so you would log in to your server using putty and use this:

php searchshell.php
