It is just the activity is down, since nothing really new and exciting that VB releases in my opinion. There can hardly be anything excited over this http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum...nouncements_aa VB5

They Dev Team really need to have a meeting and see how they can renovate their vision and approach for future vb releases and features. I think this is about mismanagement on different levels.

Yes especially their design team should consider re-think. no doubt vBulletin have great functionalities and programing but peoples like to see more attractive and light design and more social. the biggest Competitor of all scripts is now WordPress and everyone moving their sites to WordPress and vBulletin CMS is really not enough worthy if we compare functionalities and flexibility. i myslef running forum just because its too old and i have put a lot of effort on it and cant shut it down while iam earning 300% more from WordPress blog than forum which is hosted on sub domain..

It depends on what you want to do, also. Myself, I'm running a basic forum and have absolutely no need of CMS or Articles at all. WordPress cannot do what I need at all, only another forum software could. And I looked at every highly rated free software out there and not one of them came close to Vbulletin in flexibility and options. I even installed two different forums to test out before realizing that free software just wouldn't do the job.

Maybe Vbulletin popularity is dropping a bit, but if that is indeed the case, it's because of the change of focus from forums to blogs. I look at that as nothing more than a fad and think that forums will always be popular and cannot be replaced by a blog with people commenting on a principle statement or story. A forum provides a totally different interactive experience that a blog simply cannot replace. Forums are like rock and roll. It may have ups and downs, but it's not going anywhere!

Yes i am agree with you on this point, for real time conversations and user interactions there is no replacement for Forums. great level of user management is only in forums.
