Is there any built in acronym system for vBulletin? I'd like to automatically wrap an acronym with the <acronym> tags and also populate the tags with the the full name for the acronym. If it's not built in is there any plugin that will do this?

There is this mod, which is just a bbcode definition: www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=221707 . It's in the vb3 section but it should work for vb4 as well.

It's really just an html <abbr> tag, so you could make a test html file with one in there and see what it looks like, or just add the bbcode and try it in a test post, and remove it if you don't like it. You can also add CSS to your additional.css file to change with it looks like.
Actually, here's another one that does pretty much the same thing but has scrren shots and shows the CSS to modify how it looks: www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=273008 . One limitation of both of those is that the popup can only contain plain text. If you wanted an html popup window, you'll have to use something more complex (like something javascript-based). |

Oh, I see. That shouldn't be too hard - there are a lot of mods that do a search and replace on post text, but I'm not sure if there are any that do exactly that (hopefully someone else will know).

I would also need this:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...55#post2383355 I'm wondering why nobody already did that, nowadays there are so many acronyms, especially in the technical world.... |
