Hi,
I'm scratching my head a little bit at what I'm looking to achieve, so thought I'd ask the community for some advice: We have a CRM system, a CMS system, and we're in the process of migrating our existing forums to vBulletin. The migration part is fine thanks to the import tools vBulletin supply. The main thing we're trying to accomplish is with regards to single sign-on. Presently if a user logs into the CMS, this sends a web service call to the CRM which then responds with a status and additional user data is they're authenticated. Part of this is the vBulletin ID of that user. Is it possible that once this vBulletin ID is returned, that the browser session can then emulate a vBulletin login based on this ID, without actually knowing the forum username and password combination? There's some software that allows a user to 'log in as xxxx' (user) - I think we're trying to get the same level of functionality. I've had a quick look at vBSSO but it doesn't quite fit for what we're looking for. Any tips would be great. Many thanks, -Kevin |
