I took down my site a month ago and was looking to put the forum back up. Of course, I had everything on my external and it crashed.
I managed to save the files that were in the forum folder on my server & I still have my database. I do not have my file that I exported from the Maintenance section in the vB, that was lost :/ Is it possible to reinstall vB & get my site back to how it was? |

if you have your vbulletin files and you have your database then ther should be no problem, put all your files on the server and your database back using the same name..etc, make sure the config file is configured to that database and you should have your forum back, no installation needed provided everything is the same as it was

I'm not sure what file from the Maintenance section you're talking about, but yes. If you have a database backup, restoring your vBulletin is possible. Just re-upload your files, and re-import your database.

Ok, I'll try that right now and post in about 10 minutes if it worked or not.

In that case you've changed something, either the databse name isn't the same (or password or username and they must exist in your server too like cpanel...etc) or you have tried changing the domain name - EVERYTHING must be exactly as before then you will have no problems.

What domain name doesn't exist?
Also, I had a style.xml that got deleted from my harddrive that was on the database that I'm trying to restore. Is there any way to get this style back? |

YouHadMeAtHalo.com & Virtually-Gifted.com are mine.
I really don't care about getting any of the content/posts or anything back, I just need the style.xml that was in the database. Is there a way to extract that without reinstalling the vB because I just can't get it working :L |

You'd need to install the database then export the Style table, but that wont give you your gifs, png's...etc or css files if you used them, they will still be in your forum folders.
