Inserting a forum-specific banner photo

Would someone please respond with an idiot-proof, step-by-step list of instructions on how to insert a banner photo on vb4 (not an advertising link; just a plain old photo that I upload to the images folder).

I want to be able to put a different photo on each separate forum between the main header area and the navigation bar where the forum name is listed. If I can't do a separate one for each forum, I'll settle for just one photo on the main page where all the forums are listed.

Please help. I'm a noob, not a programmer but can follow basic instructions, and I've searched and searched and only come up with bits and pieces of information. None of it makes sense. TIA!
