Hi
without wasting anyone time i would like to come to the point that we are already running a warez forum on phpbb with having 4500+ active users but we are facing some difficulty in terms of operations and setting of phpbb because its a bit complicated and we are not professional coders or developers to edit mod installation..thats why decided to move to vb but before purchasing it i would like to ask that for a warez forum which one should we purchase..vb classic or vb suite and 2nd thing that if we purchase vb 4.0 then do we have to purchase the licence every year or not.... and one last thing that how can we transfer our existing database of our old forum to the new vb one guidance will be highly appreciated ![]() |

From the vBulletin License Agreement:

Therefore if you intend to run a Warez forum vBulletin isn't for you. |

If you buy a VB4 license you never have to buy another VB4 license. You will have the ability to run VB4 indefinitely and have access to all VB 4.x.x versions released.
As for The Forum Classic vs. the Suite it will depend in your needs. If you don't have any use for blogs and/or a CMS system then a Forum Only license is probably sufficient. |

Once you purchase vBulletin you will have access to Impex which is a tool for importing other forums into vBulletin. You should be able to import phpbb without a problem. Users may have to reset their passwords after the import though.

But to the OP: Personally I recommend vBulletin 3.8.x instead of the 4. You'll thank me. Alot. |

This place and vbulletin.com are FULL of threads from people having issues with vB4. People asking if there is a way to revert to vB 3.8. Take a little look around, don't just take my opinion. If you need a CMS get Joomla. If you need excellent forum board software get the latest version of vBulletin 3.8. Seriously. I mean, hey Johnny. This board we're on right now is a 3.6 itself, not a 4. What's that tell ya? |
