Hi... not sure if this has been covered by anyone else (searching has caused fruitless results after several hours/days...)
Basically, the setup is that the forum is based on my host called (for example) http://myvbforum.co.uk, which is plesk-based, and therefore resides within its root httpdocs directory. However, this forum is pointed to by another domain name with a subdirectory (i.e. www.anothersitename.co.uk/forum), this being forwarded to my domain. The redirection works great, and the URI shows correctly (i.e. www.anothersitename.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay etc)... except for one issue. VB has three points of login; the navbar at the top, the standard login page, and the third (which is causing the issue) being the "redirector login" - in other words, if a non-member clicks a forum link, they get taken to a login page, which should then take them to their destination after success. However, what happens (in this instance only) is that the redirect, instead of going to www.anothersitename.co.uk/forum/whatever, goes to myvbforum.co.uk, which then causes all sorts of problems with cookies, styling etc. I've tried to change the $name variable in includes/class_core.php to a hard coded server name value (being www.anothersitename.co.uk, which clears this error but then causes others...) which leads me to believe it may well be a .htaccess based solution. Any clues as to where I should look? Many many thanks in anticipation... |
