Looking for a mod that will move a thread and grab off-site images as it does so

I run a hobby board and folks regularly post images as part of 'how-to's' and reference posts. Sometimes these things need to be archived for future reference but with off-site storage of the images they are susceptible to folks moving photo-hosting sites, or just general tidying/deletion activities.

So, I'm looking for a mod or hack that will amend the move function, or add a new move function, that not only moves a thread from one forum to another but will also grab any images/files displayed in the thread (but hosted off-site) and store them somewhere on the localhost (updating the IMG links in the thread as it does so). Does something like this exist already and if so can someone link me to it?
