How would I go about preventing banned users (their IP address), from registering on the forums. I want them to receive an error page after submitting their registration details. This error page would state they already have a (banned) account.

Would I need to create a seperate file full of their IP addresses, or is there a way to locate the IP's (banned) through mysql in a php file?

Well, there is a feature in the admin cp that allows you to keep members from accessing any part of your board.

Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> User Banning Options

Everything you need is in there. :3 Hope that helps.
