Show post in "new posts"

I looked through the forums and cannot find this anywhere.

The need: When the user clicks on "new posts" I want them to be able to see the results showing the full posts, not just the titles.

For example, if I do a real search, we have the option of showing posts in the results. Thats EXACTLY what i want as the behavior for "new posts".

SMF forums has something similar. It's called "lastest posts" and the results are up to the last 100 posts with all the text, not just the titles.

maybe I am missing it but i simply cant find this anywhere. I saw one hack here that seems to address it but couldnt get it to work with vBulletin 4.0.6 Patch Level 1

Any idea?
