Hello,
My forum (v 3.8.6p1) has moved from a shared host to a VPS. When this was done, i could still access my ACP, but there were some errors on the site itself. The shout and Cyb - Advanced Forum Statistics 6.6.2 showed some mistakes. I turned them both off in the ACP and first re-installed Cyb - Advanced Forum Statistics 6.6.2 with overwriting. Then the page should go automaticly to the plugin- or homepage of ACP. But no, all i did see was a blank screen with in the left top corner the following "code" Code:
But maybe i'm wrong about this. Is there somehow a way to access my control panel anyway? Or is there a possibility to reset it? Somewere i noticed the following message: Quote:
Can someone help me with this problem? Grtz Ron PS: Sorry, if my English writing is a bit wrong maybee, but it's not my normal language. |

Unfortunately I can't help with your problem, I'm sure someone will be able to, but your English is very good, that isn't an issue.

I think i found the problem.
It came to me when some off my staff replied an e-mail with the notice that she CAN access the ACP. So i looked immediatly with my mobile phone, and she was right. At home i tried again with two different browsers (FF and GC), with Firefox i could'nt get in and with Chrome i did. So i googled on this problem and the sollution is simple, the charset of FF is standard on IS0-8859-1, but should be on UTF-8. Now my problem is that i have to do this over and over again by hand, or switch from browser. Since the site is running on a VPS, i have more problems. The mysql is running on the server itself now, and my guess is that it is not installed and set correctly, because many of the members lost their avatar on the site, so i think i have to let someone look at my phpmysql and make it work like before. So this topic can be closed, or someone should have more tips for me to check out. I'm not that good with phpmysql, but friends of me are. Thank you for the kind answers. Grtz Ron |

It shouldn't be that tough to migrate to another server - do you still have access to the old files and db? It seems like something was missed or messed up when the migration took place.
If you still have access to the old server re-ftp all of your files to your computer.. take a fresh dump of the database.. empty out the vps db and import your db again - remove everything on the new vps and upload your files.. as long as everything was working on your old server correctly it should be the same on the vps. Once you're sure nothing got corrupted during the download/upload process, then start looking at permissions or server settings to ensure they're properly set up.. |
