2) How do I add custom rank/badges under a member's username?

Thank-you for that keyword, but do understand that there are many people who do not know the exact process on how to customize the CSS to fulfill those specific features.

trust me man there is no other way you can get this done as good as it looks...
post the link of the site where you got that screen shot from and i well get that css for you...
