i'm new to the back end of vb, so i assume this is something simple that i have missed...
i have a live site, and a couple of test styles, (one's a child of the default style, one is an orphan), when i make changes to the stylevars for the test styles they don't show up, using http://forum/index.php?styleid=20 to check in a separate browser... when i make changes to the live templates/stylevars they show up on the live site immediately, but my poor members are already grumpy and confused by the upgrade and i need to test me styles properly before rolling them out.... what am i doing wrong??? would really appreciate help with this....many thanks  |

go to your admin area of your site, Style Manager, and uncheck the box next to the templates you're working on. This way you can still work on that template, but the visitors of the forum won't be able to use that one until you check the box (and go live with it) again.
Hope that helps! |

thanks very much!
just to clarify: i have 3 styles - only one 1 is live the 2 admincp options i have found that relate to this are: 1. i have allowed users to view styles 2. i have already unchecked the box that allows users to choose styles (so that dropdown doesnt appear on my front page) when i login as a non-admin user, i can view the test styles, but when i change them using admincp, stylevars, whatever, the changes arent displayed. i assume there must be another checkbox or something somewhere that i missed thanks again anyone who can help with this ! --------------- Added [DATE]1266577215[/DATE] at [TIME]1266577215[/TIME] --------------- apologies for X-posting at vb.com but i can't seem to get any help here or there!!! |

Click on Frontpage (CMS) > Click on Pencil (edit) > Section Information > Style > Inherit (or design style name of your choice) >Save
Worked for me when I had this issue, maybe it'll help for you too |
