How Can I Change Allowed Filetypes For Avatars?

I want my avatar to be an image rotation script (.php) ,rather than a single static image. Where (if anywhere) can I add the .php extension for allowed avatar filetype? Hoping to make this work in conjunction with a default avatar mod as well.
FYI I do understand I can edit my postbit template to do this.
