Emails to Users Stopped Working-How Do I Fix It?

All Emails to Users Stopped Working

Please help! All of the emails to users (activation email, welcome email, forgot password ?etc) suddenly stopped working. Only PM?s and emails to admin (contact us) are processing through the forum.


I went through absolutely everything I know how to do. All of the email settings in Admin CP, switched back and forth within SMTP server and internal PHP mail...etc


I edited my config.php file and did put this line right under <?php:
ini_set("SMTP",smtp.saltwatercatch.com");


I have followed the instructions on email troubleshooting from the VB Manual and still cannot figure out the problem. http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/troubleshoot_email


Also I ran the email test in diagnostic, it's working fine there are no errors anywhere. I even contacted my host provider at StartLogic.com they also could not locate the problem.


Please help if you can or point me to the right people. I need to fix this ASAP. Needless to say my members are getting frustrated!


I?m running a VB Version 3.8.2
I didn?t do anything new, no upgrades, and no new plugins. The only thing I did was altering a couple of phrases (listed below) by adding an additional line to first one and renaming the second. Hover this is not the cause of the problem because I did put back the default phrases and it?s still not working.

1.$vbphrase[registeremail]
2.$vbphrase[activateaccount]

If the vBulletin Email diagnostics did not show an error, then they are sent normal. The error is most likely in your mail server and you should inspect the error logs of the mail server for the reason of this.
