Well of course, my luck has run out. Some nimrod in China copied my entire website. Hostmoster is of no help.
So do you hide your view source? If so, can someone please tell me how? (in tech knob language) LOL Can't disable right click. Thanks a million, Gab |

There's no point, it's extremely easy to get round, and anyone using some scraper won't have Javascript enabled anyway. You can't hide HTML/CSS/Javascript code.

Sucks, eh? I've had my designs ripped before. I've had good luck in contacting the offenders' ISP and having the site either pulled, or the owner forced to remove the stolen theme. These were American ISPs, though.
And shame on all you "designers" who will steal a website's theme and either sell it, or copy it at a client's request. You'd think after all my years of doing web design I'd be used to it by now, but the lack of scruples displayed by some still enrages me. |

Absolutely no way on this earth you can stop people finding your source, even if you encrypt it. Even firefox have an official plug in to view page sources

--------------- Added [DATE]1258000511[/DATE] at [TIME]1258000511[/TIME] --------------- Forgot to say that Hostmonster also told me that this person/company had hundreds of accounts with them but became disgruntled over something and was subsequently banned from Hostmoster. Hostmoster further went on to say that they think this company accessed my host account before they left Hostmoster. After researching the company and person, I see that they are slimly international scum. After an hour on the phone with hostmoster with some tech who had no clue, they were of no help either. Is there anything at all I can do on the server end to curb this? Anything at all? |

In order for your browser to be able to show your pages, it will have to sent the HTML to the client, there is no way to avoid that (other then server blank pages to everyone).
Also blocking right clicks or such won't stop anyone, and it will only annoy your legit users. |

Thanks Marco
I guess the best I could do is block some countries from acccessing at all, this way I have some legal resource if it happens in the U.S.? What if they copy my vbulletin forum as well? Can that happen? Would this be a violation of VB terms? |
