For my main website I use an almost-continuous deployment process: every commit to the release branch of my source code repository results in a number of unit and integration tests running. If they all pass, the new code is sent to the production server. I then manually confirm that I want to use it, any necessary database migration scripts are run, and it goes live.
Can I do anything remotely like this in vBulletin? I setup a test forum on my development server to get the right settings, styles, etc. setup. I can download all of these and upload them to the production server manually, it seems (except that a couple of settings, like forum url, have to be different). Is there a more automated way to deploy changes from the dev server's forum to the production server? |
