Im getting so tired of dumb sneaky spammers who try to act like they care about the forum but still spam their sites.
Im looking for a way to prevent all new members that have under 20 posts from posting a URL in their signature... also, when they click "update signature" they will see the notice there telling them that their not allowed to have a URL based signature until they have atleast 20 legitimate posts.. I would like to keep my usergroups the same as well. Is there an easy way to do this ? Maybe 3.8 has this built in already ? The spammers are getting sneakier and sneakier everyday. I appreciate any help. MB |

Without adding another usergroup, I don't think it can be done.
If you don't mind adding another usergroup: Create the usergroup Set the signature permissions of this group to allow link BB code Then create a promotion (Usergroups > Promotions) to move users from the Registered to the new group after X number of posts. |

I heard most people do them through plugins...in which you dont have to create new usergroups..
I just hate messing with the original "Registered Users" usergroup. Thats the most important one and I know something will end up screwing up. If not immediate, then somewhere down the road with permissions and such... |

Do you have a link to these plug-ins? I'm looking for similar functionality in my forum.
