I saw the new "New Posts" dropdown, I wonder how to configure the type value it's used.

Thanks Sofia, but that doen't really do what I am looking for. I need to specify some search variables to include only certain forumIDs on the string. At the moment I'm using search.php?do=getnew&include=1,5,10 but I would like to keep it compact like they just did here at vborg

It is most likely a plugin at the start of the search script that catches this and sets the appropriate GET/POST parameters.
