On my forum, I am member.php?u=188,
I know my profile can be accessed by member.php?username=Mad Mikey but I was wondering. How would I get my userid to be #1, whilst the current holder of userid #1 is moved to #188. I'm asking cos the founder of the forum has given it up, and I have taken over, and I'm just idly wondering, if it involves tampering with the database i'm probably not gonna do it.. Also, if it's not possible to "switch" I have a user who was userid=4 who was deleted, would I be able to "fill" that spot? Is it possible to "Re-allocate" deleted user's userids? Not urgent, just some idle wondering, please, feel free to post speculation, or ideas on the topic, as I'm not seeking help, per se, as this forum seems to be used for, just trying to start a discussion ![]() Whee!!!!!!! OOH OOOH OHH! What abotu putting myself at userid=0? That would be awesomesauce in a dish, lolz. |

Swapping out your username with another member number is most likely more trouble than it's worth. First thing that comes to mind are all the posts made with the member number.
There's an option within vbulletin that prohibits a deleted username from being used again within x days. I believe the default is 365. |

Purge an account and merge yourself with it.. you may want to do this with 2 test accounts so that you're sure of what you're doing first.

Ah, but that wouldn't give me a new userid, unless I used a bot with an earlier userid than me.

It would definitely require tampering with the database.
But let me ask you something... do you have an idea what userid Paul M is? Or DavidW? Or Princeton? The reason I ask is that no one pays attention to the userid. No one is going to care that you are userid 188. |

I know, It was just an idle thought, is all, as, if it were possible somehow, the knowledge could be useful in the future
