Stop strip_tags() happening when you edit a post?

Would it be possible to stop the php function strip_tags() occuring when you edit a post? It's causing big problems for me by messing up URLs

Making a post is fine it's just editting them that's the problem. When the text is grabbed from the db and put in the text editor :s

Note: I would pay for somebody to resolve this.
