Advice on a problem user - cf cross post at vb.com

Hi all, can I ask you guys to refer to a post I have in vb.com asking about the best strategy to handle a banned user who has been abusing my site and I want to remove him but I have to retain access to the threads and posts so I can review them in case of legal action.

I have done a threads&posts move user's threads to a private forum but this does not work for his individual replies/posts elsewhere in the site.

As I understand it I can delete them or assign them guest - not detatch them all from their original threads/context and merge them into a single thread along with the ones he authored.

I cross post because I feel that there may be some people in the mod/hack community who would have a different take on this or a strategy that may be an option for me.

One of the things he has done is change images that were linked to from his posts to things that deface my site - I have censored a unique word in his URL to fix that but want to get closure on this as soon as possible.

Will
