Selling Services with vBulletin

A business partner and I are starting up a new online business through which we will be offering/selling services. E.g., we are hired to do a certain something for clients' websites.

The issue we are having is figuring out what system(s) we will use to handle payments and communication between clients.
We have so many options but cannot decide which is best.

I mean, for payments there is Paid Subscriptions, Members Area mods, manual PayPal invoicing, etc. The thing is, it needs to be integrated with usergroups somehow, so that we can service users appropriately based on the service packages they have purchased.

Secondly, we need a way to correspond with users, because it isn't something where they pay, and we perform the service. There will be quite a bit of communication between us and the client before we can perform the service.
