How can I add the Rate-this-thread option to the thread creation page?

I'm setting up my friend's forum, and one forum is dedicated to reviews. The person submitting the review should be able to submit a rating as well. (Replies already have the function, so I wonder how we can move it over to work with the newthread.php file.

I'm assuming the difficulty would be because the rating is applied to an already-created thread in the db, but there must be a way to submit the rating info along with the thread when it's created.

Does anyone know if this is possible? Adding the rating dropdown to the showthread template is easy, but I need to know what to add to newthread.php from newreply.php.
