Any idea how I could pull a persons avatar on the forumhome, i'm trying to create and box on the sidebar with info like there amount of posts and threads etc plus I want to display there avatar there as well.

any suggestions welcome

You could check out this old hack by Zero and see how he pulled the code for his welcome panel hack.
