I'd like to upgrade to 3.8; however I have custom buttons and style options on 3.7.1
How do I save these when I upload all the files vBulletin says I should thanks, |

Your custom style will have it's own images folder within the main /images folder. When you upgrade to 3.8 it will include your current styles.
If you have custom templates within the style, you will need to update the styles to include the latest 3.8 code before vbulletin will fully work properly. |

Then just compare the different images folders and only add in the new images.

I have never lost style mods after an upgrade. I also never reverted the templates that had the modifications. |

Uploading files does not remove your styles. Also, when upgrading, vBulletin will not touch any of your modified templates. If you clicked revert, then you would have seen a warning message.
