Running and Maintaining Vbulletin for the Complete Idiot? Is their such a thing?

Hi all,
I have know knowledge of vbulletin, except for read the 1000 page document bible that came with it....
It really took me along time to figure out how to add signature pictures to my forum members post, and frankly it still doesn't work (as I think it would). You select the "Upload Signature Picture" and they still come out as little tiny Avatar size pictures. I've reset the signature counters and it still doesn't resize the picure and they all continue to be the same size as a Avatar.

So.... Is their any books that you guys can recommend that are for the complete idiot? I mean, we're taking about the someone that knows nothing.... I went to Amazon and looked but nothing looks promising. There has got to be someone in the same boat as me. What did you use to figure all this stuff out? What book did you read?
I mean, just like adding chatbox to my system, that was simple, it was a one click install program. Now I'm wondering, how do I copy whatever files that changed to make sure I have a good copy just incase my site goes down.... So, there has got to be something that says "Just click here and here to make backups for your site"... I hope this make sense....
