Default Add Forum Subscriptions via Admin

We have some of our members who are well lets say a little lazy in coming to the forums. We feel if they are getting notifications in their email they at the very least will know what's going and hopefully will contribute to various discussions.

Problem: As far as I am aware only the idividual user can add subscriptions. Now they've all been warned they will be (once we can do it) subscribed to all applicable forums.

So what I need to find out is how can I add a way to subscribe members as an Admin to various forums/threads. so that from that point forward they will receive every post/reply there after via email.

I've looked and looked, but can't seem to find anything. I have found the one where you assign an email addy to each forum you want to have (like Yahoo groups) but for a large board that's a LOT of email addresses to setup and manage.

Any help would be most appreciated.

JT

Why woud you want to force users to receive these mails? This is a personal choice and sending them unwanted emails is considered spamming and can get your domain blacklisted by email providers.

The only reason that I can think of where something like this might be desired is if the forum is set up in a corporate environment where it is a job requirement to keep up to date on what is being posted. Such as a tech support forum.

The members who are on the forums are on the forums becuase they are members of an organisation... participation is required. So instead of me and the other Admins sending normal emails all the time trying to summarise, we intend to force the subscriptions so at the very least they get the content from the forum as it occurs.

How we operate is our concern and and second of all the reasons behind the why, again something for our own internal organisations rules and policies.

All I wanted to know was how I can do it. So based ONLY on that can anyone advise how we can go about doing it.
