Help making a few fourm mods

I recently got vBulletin and I'm looking to make some changes to better suit the forum's purpose. My forum is primarily a music community that will give artists as musicians a sort of "portal" to lead people to their work. The community will also feature a general music discussion area. I want to have certain profile fields available for artists and musicians to fill in when they sign up. Regular users wouldn't need these fields, so I'd like to be able to restrict them to the usergroup for musicians. I want them to be able to check something to identify themselves as a musician so I don't have to manually add them to the group. I'd also like for there to be a "profile of the day" and "artist of the month" spot somewhere on the front of the forum.

Is there any way to do these things?
