How to make vBulletin recognize new ranks without manually running update?

I am in the process of creating a nice product for my forum, part of which deals with automatically moving the user to and from usergroups.

The product itself is working fine, but the rank images for the new user (using stacked ranks) do not show up unless I manually run the rank update thingie in the AdminCP.

My question is, after I set the new membergroupids (using the User Datamanager) and save the DM, how can I make vB recognize the new rank(s) of the user without manually running an update?



In the admincp/misc.php, where you run the updater, it has the following line:

  $userdm->set('posts', $user['posts']); // This will activate the rank update 


I tried including that line in with my own script, but it doesn't seem to be updating the ranks.


EDIT: Of course, I ran the SELECT query from said page as well, to make sure $user['posts'] was whatever value it was supposed to be.
