Hi, would it be wrong for me to release a mod I paid for?

Hi, I paid I think 40 dollars for a super awesome mod that I currently use on all my forum sites. The person that created the mod, no long supports it, I have no way of contacting him. The person's website no longer works either. It's from infernotechnologies.

The mod allows me to pull threads, from any forum, place threads on any site, user login, user online, etc. A lot of features. Check it out on

IMO it's better than vbaadvance, because I can customize the layout I want 100%. IMO it's waste to keep it hidden and undeveloped. I'm not a vb developer or a modder so I don't know man. IMO it should be release so everyone can use this awesome mod.

It depends on the agreement you had when you purchased the modification - in most cases, it is no.

Hmmm, I didn't read the agreement so well that I would remember it though. Isn't there a law that says soemthing if the website, owner, can't be contacted or anything? Doesn't seem to be supported or anything.

I'm not releasing it to sell, just gonna release it here for free. It's been six month since that site has been down.

Inferno have gone down sadly, alot of customers are in the same position you are, I don't think the license we signed however allows anyone to release anything, infact i'm sure it didn't

The law is that the company/person that created the "creative work" retains the copyright over their product - and in most commercial cases, does not allow for re-distribution of their product with their explicit permission.
