Default ProvB.org (beta) - Launched & Ready

ProvB.org - Professional Vbulletin Solutions
Vbulletin Mods, Styles, Resources

The website in brief: Our aim was to offer a place where developers and vbulletin owners can exchange ideas and services, as well as list their commercial and free products they've created themselves. We feature great benefits for developers including a "developers toolbar", as well as resources for the average vbulletin owner.

Note that this is only a beta Launch, and more's still to come.

Any comments/suggestions are welcomed.

I like the look of it but there's an awful lot of options on every page and all over the page e.g. a navigation bar, a tabbed navigation bar and the gold navigation bar too. I'd get rid of the top one altogether , ditch the gold bar but use the graphics (which are nice) on the tabbed navigation bar.

Your main homepage needs a lot of work from a usability perspective. You have 3 identical looking blocks that list different content. You should consider making them look different and restructuring that section of the page.

You also repeat parts of the navigation twice. Some of the links in the header are also below the login box. That's rather confusing as an end-user.

Finally, your right navigation block looks FAR too much like google ads. My eyes would be instantly drawn away from it

All in all it's a bit monotonous. It needs some colour, some contrast and a few more images here and there.

The homepage was done in order to promote simplicity and usability actually as far as the content is concerned. Got the concept from iGoogle. I woulda gone the image-powered, magazine styled route, but i didn't feel it fit the part for now, which is why i adapted some of iGoogle's usability approaches.

Working on minimizing navigation clutter, as I can see how it'd be an issue.

That's a good point. I work on a high resolution so it doesn't really get to me, but i can definitely see why it'd get to others with a lower resolution. When you mention options, are you talking only in terms of the navigation bar? The developer's toolbar shouldn't ever show in conjunction with the normal icons.

I was actually talking about the bar on your profile. Didn't even realise it was a profile till I went back to look.

Pretty much echo what Dean has said. There's an awful lot of info and links everywhere. I'm 1920x1200 btw. I also notice some very big font sizes e.g. here http://www.provb.org/forumdisplay.php?f=18

Hm, guess I'm going to have to look into perhaps minimizing the height of the header to compliment certain pages? I'll see what i come up with. Thanks for the comments so far.

At a quick glance it looks good, but you should at least spell "vBulletin" correctly.

Its a good start, but like others have said the home page has a lot going on and it was hard to concentrate or find anything.

Good foundation to build on from the looks of it, pretty impressive at first glance
